Under the Grid

Under the Grid is a proposed 15-block greenway under the Chicago Transit Authority’s Pink Line between Kedzie and Kildare. When complete, Under the Grid will provide connections to both the 16th Street and Ogden Corridors, which are both called out in the North Lawndale Quality of Life Plan as essential to economic development in the neighborhood. The walkway will provide residents and visitors alike with a safe, fun, and engaging route through the community, bringing much-needed vibrancy to the area.

Chicago Infrastructure Network

The Chicago Infrastructure Network is a group focused on the development of infrastructure reuse projects—and the people who are helping them come to life while minimizing negative impacts such as displacements.

Chicago is the third most populous city in the US, an important cultural, economic, and transportation center that is challenged by its unequal distribution of resources and access to quality spatial opportunities for all its communities. Chicago has been working to transform old infrastructure and catalyze local neighborhoods with a focus on vulnerable populations. The Chicago Infrastructure Network shares ideas and creates strategies to shift policy changes necessary to create equitable development within the built network.
